Studies

In order to evaluate Windi, a study of 20 infants with stomach pain was performed at a children’s clinic in Sweden, using Windi in combination with stomach massage.

Nine of the infants were considered colicky children, while nine of them suffered from other gas related problems. Two of the children suffered from constipation. When the study ended, the average treatment had lasted 34 days. During this period the parents used one or two products per day. The average was slightly higher for the colic children (1,7 per day) than for those with gas problems of less serious nature (1,2 per day).

With six of the infants, Windi performed successfully each time. Overall, 71 percent of the parents felt that Windi had a positive effect on their babies and contributed to their well being. 55% of the successful cases required one to two trials with the same Windi to have the desired effect and the rest needed 3-4 attempts. The infants who had colic needed slightly more trials than other children. None of the parents needed to try more than four times to get rid of the gas.

It should be emphasized that the study was conducted on a small number of children and a control group were missing. It did not demonstrate the effect of the massage. Still, the study indicates clearly that the treatment is effective for gases in infants and thus alleviates pain and discomfort.
